The Alimosho General Hospital’s Catering Unit has earned the distinction of being named the overall winner in the World Food Day Competition, organized by the Lagos State Health Service Commission (HSC).

 

The competition featured Catering Units from General Hospitals across the state, commemorating the annual World Food Day Celebration.

 

Held on October 16, 2024, at the Island Maternity General Hospital, the grand finale marked the culmination of various zonal competitions.

The event provided a platform for participants to showcase their culinary expertise and promote the importance of healthy and nutritious food.

 

Miss Osalusi Anuoluwapo, a Catering Officer with Alimosho General Hospital’s (ALGH) Catering Unit, has been recognized for her exceptional culinary skills as she claimed the ‘Best Cook Award’ in the HSC Cooking Competition.

 

The competition, organized to promote healthier food preparation and consumption in secondary healthcare facilities across the state, celebrated Anuoluwapo’s commitment to providing nutritious and delicious meals.

 

In line with the World Food Day Celebration, themed ‘Right to Foods for a better life and better future,’ the ALGH’s Dietetics & Nutrition Department and Catering Unit took the initiative to distribute complimentary packs of vegetable salads and water to patients admitted in various wards of the hospital.
