The councillorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alagbeji Ward in Isolo LCDA, Hon. Olanrewaju Kayode (Larry K), said he was optimistic of getting massive vote counts at the end of the ongoing electoral exercise.
Speaking with ECHONEWS after casting his vote at his polling unit 008, Alabe around 10:10am, Kayode, who was jotted by the initial low turnout of electorate, said he was optimistic that more people would come out to exercise their civil right.
He noted that the malfunctioning of the card reader initially kept people away.
He, however, commended the electoral officers for immediate solution by using manual accreditation to commence the exercise.
He also commended them for coming to the polling booth on time and for exhibiting good conduct.
The electoral officer arrived at the polling unit at around 8:51am was quick to set up the unit for the commencement of electoral process.
His words: “The process is okay, free and fair. The card reader is the problem, it is somehow malfunctioning but I’ve just been accredited manually. The low turnout is because the votes have just started but I’m optimistic that the people will turn out and we will win convincingly as anticipated. I urge all electorate to come out en-mass to vote.”
