Residents and indigenes of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area enjoyed a medical outreach organized by the Lagos State Government in conjunction with Lagos Health District 6 and Ejigbo LCDA at Ejigbo Modern Market/Motor Park.
The outreach, named “Alafia Eko,” covered six health districts with specific locations for each.
It offered free medical services, including free eye care and glasses, treatment of common ailments, blood sugar tests, screening for hypertension, diabetes, HIV, TB etc. and Food packs donated by LASG.
Hon. Monsurudeen Obe, the Council Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, was represented by the Vice Chairman and Supervisor for Health, Hon. Ayodele Sunday, who stated that the mission of Alafia Eko is to ensure the masses receive proper medical care.
Mrs. Yetunde Ibrahim The Apex Nurse of the LCDA and Medical Officer of Health explained that the program aims to screen the populace for common ailments for prompt management and also to alleviate the effect of economic hardship on health.
The Free Medical Mission offered services, including counselling, health insurance enrollment, eye tests, free medicine distribution, LASRA services, and food distribution for the elderly and less privileged.
A beneficiary expressed gratitude, saying, “On behalf of my family, I say a big thanks to Mr. Governor for the privilege given to us today. We were tested medically and given a lot of drugs, and the best part was receiving food supplies.” Another beneficiary, Mr. Israel, thanked the Governor of Lagos State and Council Chairman Mr. Monsurudeen Obe for their support.
