Alaba International Market: Associations sign six conditions to reopen market

An agreement has been reached between members of Alaba International Market Association and Lagos State Park Administrators over the turmoil that previously occurred in the area.
Representatives from each faction have signed a 6-condition Memorandum of understanding for the reopening of the market.
According to a source, who spoke to Echonews, it is unanimously agreed that: street trading would be indefinitely cancelled along the road, collection of money by members of Lagos State Park Administrators will be harmonised by Lagos State Government and Ojo Local Government respectively, payment at any approved pay point will be sufficient to avoid double payments while the approved pay points are Volkswagen bus stop, Sabo bus stop and Sunny bus stop, collection of money from market customers would be cancelled, parking haulage vehicles on the road would be cancelled and that any party that breaches any of the above resolutions shall be prosecuted according to law.
In the meantime, the chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Rasulu Idowu  has appealed to both factions to adhere to the MOU for peace to rein in the council.
