Following the decision of Mr Paul John Nwaenyi to withdraw from the race, Chief Monday Akunna has emerged as the new chairman of Greenfield Community Development Association (CDA).
Akunna won the election unopposed gathering 165 votes.
Mr Rantimi Ogunleye amassed 145 votes to beat Mr Christain Ogueli to emerge as the Secretary while Chief Raphael Ogazi and Mr Christain Asange emerged the vice-chairman 1 and 2 having polled 165 and 156 votes respectively.
The election, described as democratic, was observed by the Community Development Committee (CDC) led by Hon. Segun Olatunde, CDA chairmen from Isolo, Amuwo-Odofin and Ikorodu North LCDAs.
The election recorded a fair turnout of residents as they confidently cast their votes for their candidates using the option A4 voting system.
Commenting on the election, the chairman of Ago Phase II United Forum (APUF), Hon. Nixon Okwara described it as free, fair and transparent, commending the contestants for their show of sportsmanship which he said politicians across levels of government should emulate.
“Politicians need to learn that whatever they do, posterity will speak. If you are doing well, people will elect you,” he said.
