Towards reducing the impact of the country’s economic crisis, Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde, Chairman Igando-Ikotun Lcda rolls out 25 percent sales of raw food stuff at subsidized amount for residents.
Phase II of its ‘Ounje Eko’ Food Discount Market which started on September 1. The temporary markets, which also took place at Igando Grammer school operated on every Sundays, selected food items at a 25 percent discount to compliment the Lagos State Government initial 25 percent In total making 50 percent for both Eggs and Bread.
Varieties of raw food items in quantities available for sale sold for 25% amount off market prices. This is an effort to improve the purchasing power of low income households and residents of Igando-Ikotun community.
The Chairman said the essence of the exercise is to compliments the efforts of the State Government at the local level.
This a challenging period for economy, it is imperative to cater for welfare of our people within the community. Considering the rate of increase in price of commodities and food items in most of our major commodity markets, we decided to give out 25% on subsidized sales of food stuff so as to reduce the economic burden on our people in this present economic situation.
