The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has promised swift action to improve facilities at the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Health Centre in Akowonjo, Egbeda, after an inspection visit on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The Chairman, joined by Vice Chairman Hon. Adebisi Francis, Council Manager Dr. Banjoko Idowu Oluwadayisi, and Council Engineer Engr. Adekoya Hassan, toured the centre to assess its condition and hear directly from staff.
During the visit, Dr. Agbi Oluwaseyi, Assistant to the Medical Health Officer, outlined pressing challenges, including a shortage of bed space, irregular power supply, roof leakages, and insufficient file storage. He explained how these problems have hindered effective patient care.
Hon. Akinpelu listened to the concerns and instructed the Council Engineer to document all structural and electrical faults. He assured health workers that the centre would receive a facelift without delay, emphasising that quality healthcare is a priority for the people of Alimosho.
Health workers welcomed the commitment. Dr. Agbi, speaking on behalf of the team, thanked the Chairman for his attention to their needs and pledged full support for the council’s healthcare agenda.
The visit has raised hopes among residents that long-overdue repairs and upgrades will soon transform the primary healthcare facility into a safer, more reliable centre for the community.
