To further commemorate the 80th birthday of Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale; a member of the high-class Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the fifth legislative council of Isolo LCDA has donated bedding to the seven Primary Healthcare Centres in the council area.
The revered politician attained the milestone on Friday, 4th October 2024.
On the sideline of Monday’s plenary on the floor of the hallowed chamber, the councillors took turns to extol the virtues of the respected apex leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo LGA as they announced the donation of the basic hospital essentials to commemorate the age addition.
In his address, the Council Leader, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi Alarape noted that the donation was to further promote the revered elder statesman’s legacy of philanthropy and selflessness.
“In the spirit of celebrating our leader and political benefactor’s 80th birthday, we are reminded of his countless contributions to the welfare of people around him. He showed this yet again over the weekend when he gave out food items to over 2,000 households in Isolo with a target of 7,000 across Oshodi-Isolo LGA. On our part, we want to complement this gesture by making this donation of high-quality bedclothes to the PHCs in our council area.
“The initiative is a testament to Baba’s dedication and the impact he has had on the lives of many and also in furtherance of our commitment to supporting the medical facilities for maximum and qualitative service delivery,” Adeyemi stated.
The bedclothes were received by the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Anne Okonma who was invited to the special plenary.
Dr. Okonma who was accompanied by top health workers from the seven PHCs expressed gratitude for the generous donation, emphasizing that the bedding would significantly enhance patient comfort and care at the facilities.
On her part, the Majority Leader and Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Abisodun Odusina (Ishagatedo/Ire-Akari Ward)
urged the Medical officer to ensure even distribution of the 100 bedclothes to the seven health facilities hinting the legislative arm would soon carry out its regular facility visits to the health centers for its oversight function.
