Ajala Shares Inspiring Story Behind OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup

Chairman of OdiOlowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Mr Rasaq Ajala has revealed teb achievements and successes of the OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup as his tenure dwindles to an end.
Ajala proudly said that this year’s edition will be played at the newly constructed mini stadium by his administration at the Ilupeju Secondary School.
The OdiOlowo Chairman’s have become an initiative which has birthed youngsters who has acclaimed national honors at the U17 and U20 level.
“The Odi-Olowo Chairman’s Cup has produced talented youngsters who have gone on to represent Nigeria at the age-grade level,” Mr. Ajala stated proudly.
“It has also provided an enabling environment for youngsters to showcase their talents with right exposure.
“Through the Odi-Olowo Chairman’s Cup, we were able to scout youngsters who have gone on to represent Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA at the Gothia Cup in Sweden. That’s a testament to the raw talent within the community and the platform built to nurture it.”
Ajala went on to explain the decision to establish the OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup with the intention of making it a more viable platform for talent discovery.
“When we first conceived this idea, our primary goal was to create a platform for the incredible talent we knew existed within our community.
“We started with HRA Cup five years ago, in order to make it want to sustain it beyond my administration, we decided to name it OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup and that’s why we started it from the third edition to the fifth edition that we are presently in, so that’s how we came about the OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup.”
N5.5million naira is up from grabs within 50 clubs in five categories in the OdiOlowo Chairman’s Cup. Each club is entitled to appearance fee to stimulate their logistics during the tournament.
The Odi-Olowo Chairman’s Cup was more than just a football tournament; it was a testament to community spirit, a launching pad for dreams, and a symbol of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA’s commitment to its youth and its future.
