Ajala Cautions Residents On Water Stagnation

The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Ajala has urged residents to avoid water stagnation as he conducted an inspection of the ongoing road reconstruction at Fafolu Street within the council area.
The reconstruction of the road, which connects Post Office Road to Agege Motor Road, has been in progress for the past few days.
During the inspection, Ajala observed that certain sections of the road were blocked by water due to permanent slabs placed on the drains in front of some buildings along the street.
He immediately engaged with the owners of the shops and offices responsible for the slabs, instructing them to remove the obstacles promptly.
“These slabs must be removed without delay to allow the water to flow freely into the drain. As you know, we are investing significant funds, amounting to millions, in this road reconstruction project. It’s crucial to avoid water stagnation on the road surface, as it can damage the asphalt and compromise the construction’s quality,” he said.
The council boss also took the opportunity to visit Mrs. Olaide Bamowo at 26, Anuoluwapo Street in Idi-Oro, who lost her son, Gafar Yusuf, a twenty-two-year-old, during a recent raid by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the Akala area on Wednesday night.
The chairman extended his heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Bamowo, her family, and the entire community on their loss.
Meanwhile, Ajala pledged to communicate with the relevant agency to explore ways to prevent similar tragic incidents in the future, ensuring the safety of innocent members of the community during law enforcement operations.
With the chairman were his Vice, Hon. Seyi Jakande, leader of the legislative arm Hon. Rilwan Ola Ajenifuja, Secretary of the LCDA Hon. Mujeeb Ayinde Daramola, Majority Leader, Hon. Akinlabi Bamidele, Councilors representing wards A1 and 2, Hon. Ayobami Jegede and Hon. Adeosun Haruna and some aides of the chairman.
