Afusat Olabimpe Abiodun Female Gold Cup: Unification Ladies, Victory Queens Prepare For Final Reckoning

Unification Ladies will face Victory Queens in the final of the Afusat Olabimpe Abiodun Female Gold Cup at the Strong Tower Academy.

Both sides earned their place at the final of the productive women’s football tournament by dislodging their opponents in the semifinal.

Victory Queens booked their place in the Afusat Olabimpe Abiodun Female Gold Cup by triumphing over Ablaze Amazons 2-1, while Unification Ladies scaled past Assamokee Ladies 1-0 to reach the final.

Unification Ladies have won the past two editions of the competition while Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens won the maiden edition.

The convener of the Afusat Olabimpe Abiodun Female Gold Cup and Lagos FA board member, Mr Adeoye Abiodun said the final will be an epic event in celebrating the development of women’s football in the grassroots as top sport administrators led by Lagos FA chairman, Gafar Liameed and other eminent personalities would grace the epoch grand finale.

Mr Abiodun added, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament will go home with a whooping N100,000 and a chance to advance her professional career in Egypt or Saudi Arabia women’s topflight league.

The Goalkeeper of the tournament will go home with N25,000, Best referee N10,000, Highest Goal Scorer (HGS) N25,000, and Coach of the tournament N10,000.

Assamokee Ladies will trade tackles with Ablaze Amazons in the losers final in a bid to take home the consolation third place prize.
