Cote D’Ivoire forward, Max Alain Gradel has expressed high optimism of defeating Nigeria in the Africa Cup Of Nations AFCON tie at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan.
Ivory Coast started their journey in the AFCON with an emphatic victory over Guinea Bissau.
Gradel said it’s a complicated situation playing at home in front of a huge crowd who are cheering them to win but he hopes there’s less pressure against the Nigeria team.
He stated that, despite it was hard winning the first game and the Ivorians are confident of victory against the Super Eagles on home soil.
‘It’s difficult to start the AFCON, you are playing at home with a lot of pressure and in the second game, you have a less pressure,” He told ECHONEWS exclusively.
“It was very important to win the first game, it was so tough but we managed to get three points.
“Of course, we are Cote D’Ivoire, we are a good team and we are confident of having a good game and we are going for a win.”
The Super Eagles will be targeting their first win of the continental showpiece with the game against host team, Ivory Coast.
