A transportation company has stated that customers’ satisfaction is the major factor that makes businesses thrive, disclosing that the role of customers cannot be toyed with by business owners.
The Information Officer of GUO Transport, an inter-state transport company based in Ejigbo, Joel Nwabueze, stated in a chat with Echonews that putting customers first has being the company’s major strength and that it has been sustaining the company since it started the business some year ago.
He said: “We put customers comfort first, our customers are our priority because they are the one paying us, and we make sure they have wonderful experience with us from our picking point here in Ejigbo to their various destinations.”
Nwabueze, explained that the advent of internet has greatly helped them in the business as customers can book their tickets online from anywhere for their seat reservations without needing to come to the company.
He noted that the transport fares charged are subjected to change, saying the government’s policy, discount and promo run for the customers at a particular period make them not to have fixed prices.
According to him, for instance, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and student going back to school can be given discounts depending on their destinations.
He however declared that the company doesn’t engage in night journey, saying their buses wait till 7:00am before leaving their pick point at Ejigbo to embark on their journey to various destinations across the country.
Meanwhile, Nwabueze disclosed that transport companies have taken up the courier jobs and incorporate the service into their business.
“We help to transport and deliver goods and items to those people whose families and friends would like to send some items too. We charge for delivery by weighing the items and it also depends on the destinations where the items or goods are to be delivered.”
Speaking on the challenges faced by the transportation companies in Nigeria, Nwabueze noted that some are in-house challenges which arise from the breakdown and fixing of vehicles.
He added that bad roads, traffic jam, riot on high way, government’s policies on transportation companies, customers not arriving at the park on time and others also constitute challenges for travelling business.
