Lagos Govt Aims Educational Reforms In Schools

The Lagos State Government has informed of its plans to improve educational standards in government owned primary schools to ensure more developments in the educational sector.
Chairman of the state’s Universal Basic Education Board, Hakeem Shittu, made the announcement during his visits to schools on Tuesday as academic activities resume for a new term.
At the Military Cantonment Primary School in Ikeja, Shittu, who mentioned that the visits aimed at assessing the level of preparedness of schools, monitor pupil’s turnout, inspect facilities and reinforce the government’s commitment to quality education delivery, stressed on the significance of educational stakeholders upholding the highest standards with renewed energy and commitment.
He added that the state government is dedicated to ensure support to the school teachers through continuous training and improved infrastructure alongside provision of learning materials.
“I commend this schools for showing impressive readiness for a new term,” stated the board chairman.
“We must continue to uphold the highest standards in our public primary schools. Today’s visit is not only to inspect but to encourage both our teachers and pupils to embrace the new term with renewed energy and commitment.
“The administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is dedicated on giving support to the teachers through continuous training and providing improved infrastructure and learning materials.
“We are also assuring our parents and guardians that the Board would continue to prioritize the safety, welfare, and academic excellence of all pupils across the state.”
Other schools visited were Army Model School and Nine Brigade Primary School in Ikeja.
