LASG Trains Barbers On Business Digitalization

The Lagos State Government, LASG, has held a training program for barbers to facilitate their knowledge on current trend in business world.

LASG, at the program stated that the training was organized in a bid to ensure that youths are equipped with necessary insights to make them thrive in their various establishment.

In collaboration with a tech company, GFA Technologies, the state government also trained cosmetologists, beauticians during the one day workshop held on Tuesday at the T-Block Conference Hall, Alausa Ikeja.

The state’s Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, said that the initiative was held in line with the commitment to ensure that youths are engaged positively, as part of the T.H.E.M.ES of the administration of the state’s Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Ogunlende, at the event said, “The inclusion of the participants in the developmental agenda was intentionally to pay special attention to the young people in the State.

“This is the reason the Ministry is partnering with GFA Technologies to equip barbers, beauticians and cosmetologists with digital skills they need to reach more clients with better presentation of their services.

“The vision of Mr Governor is anchored on inclusivity which our Ministry is out to actualize through various initiatives and strategic collaboration.The Government cannot do it alone.We need as many collaboration as possible.”

“We can only urge the trainees to participate actively in the workshop and spread the news to as many people as possible in order for more youths to be equipped with the knowledge and skill required to upscale their business.”

The Head of Small, Medium Enterprise, SME, Wema Bank, Arthur Nkema, opined that the programme was part of the corporate social responsibility of the bank to help the trainees take their business to the next level through application of digital skill in their business transaction.

Nkema said, “The essence of this workshop is to help trainees acquire the knowledge and skill necessary to be more professional in the way and manner they do their business.

“It is to help them move from offline to online which will help them reach more people thereby making more profit.It is to change their business from traditional mode to digital.”

Segun Adeboyejo, Chief Product Officer, Wema Bank, informed that there are huge business opportunities surrounding the platforms for small scale business.

Adeboyejo trained the participants on how to create business ecosystem on domain creation and creation of other business opportunities through digitization.
