In a momentous gathering that exhibited a spirit of solidarity, the Obasa Youth Alliance (OYA) hosted a noteworthy general meeting, uniting OYA executive members, All Progressives Congress (APC) youth executives from various levels of Agege and Orile Agege, and various youth groups.
As they deliberated on the upcoming Youth Crusade, the room was filled with an air of cooperation and resolve, with every participant engaging in constructive dialogue and showcasing their unwavering dedication to advancing the shared goals of the alliance.
Comrade Ademosu Jamiu, Director-General of OYA, commenced the meeting by expressing his heartfelt appreciation to the participants for their presence.
On behalf of the convener of O.Y.A., Mr. Oluwagbemige Abiola Omaco, Ademosu conveyed a message of gratitude for the steadfastness and dedication of the youth during the last Obasa Youth Crusade. Mr. Abiola acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the youth, emphasizing the importance of their continued commitment to the alliance’s shared vision and goals.
As the meeting progressed, Mr. Jegbe Johnson, APC Youth Leader of Agege, emphasized the importance of passionate and determined action from the youth, urging them to redouble their efforts for this year’s crusade.
He highlighted the significance of political engagement, stating that commitment and zeal in politics would inevitably pave the way for future opportunities.
Recalling the achievements of the previous year, Johnson emphasized how Mr. Speaker’s influence had resulted in employment opportunities for dedicated youth members, owing to their unwavering allegiance and hard work for the party.
Comrade Ademosu Jamiu then announced that this year’s crusade would be held on November 10, 2024, and it would be themed “Youth Connect.” He acknowledged the concerns raised by some youth members who were unable to participate in last year’s organizing committee. In response, he declared that this year’s committee selection process would be different. Rather than handpicking members, the committee would be open to volunteers interested in contributing to any aspect of the event. This change aims to ensure greater inclusivity and involvement from all interested parties.
The executives decided not to constitute the committee during today’s meeting to allow those not in attendance a chance to participate. They also used the opportunity to inform the general public that those interested in joining any part of the organizing committee should attend the next meeting, scheduled for two weeks from today.
Echonews reports that as preparations for the upcoming crusade gain momentum, the Obasa Youth Alliance is set to play a pivotal role in mobilizing and empowering the youth of Agege and Orile Agege, further solidifying their commitment to the party and the community.
