During this year’s Tree Planting day event, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, emphasized the importance of preserving the ecosystem through eco-friendly activities like planting and caring for trees.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Revenue generation, Mr. Gideon Balagun, he highlighted the various benefits of trees and urged individuals to focus on planting and nurturing trees to protect the environment rather than cutting them down.

Planting trees not only enhances the environment but also helps in reducing carbon emissions, he added.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized the need for residents to refrain from illegal activities that harm the environment, such as improper waste disposal. He confirmed his ministry’s dedication to promoting a cleaner environment.

The event included a question and answer session where experts addressed participants’ queries. It concluded with the planting of trees at the council secretariat by distinguished guests.

The event was well attended, with councillors, the APC LGA chairman, Mr. Saheed Animashaun, Deputy Speaker, Mr. Wasiu Mustapha, Supervisors, Special Advisers, CDC executives, and Environmental sanitation Department staff, among others in attendance.
