Citizen’s Gate: Respond in “Real-Time” To All Complaints, PS Tells MDAs

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Civic Engagement (OCE), Engr. Abiola Kosegbe has called on ministries, departments and agencies of the government to always respond in real time, complaints by citizens of the state.

She said this will part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to promote transparency, citizen participation and efficient service delivery to all rresideents.

She explained about the need to service the public when theOffice of Civic Engagement has met with the officials of the Ministry of Transportation and all its Agencies on the upgraded Citizens Gate 2.0 Application.

In her address at the meeting held recently at the Ministry of Transportation in Alausa, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Civic Engagement (OCE), Engr. Abiola Kosegbe said communication is paramount for the seamless implementation of any government policy or intervention and called for the urgent need for MDAs to respond in “real-time” to all complaints, inquiries and suggestions by the citizens.

She enjoined all Accounting Officers in the Ministry/Agencies to acquaint themselves with the Citizens Gate 2.0 Application to bridge the communication gap between Lagos State Government and its citizens.

Kosegbe pointed out the need to leverage the large reach of the Ministry of Transportation and its Agencies in propagating the upgraded Citizens Gate 2.0 Application on their various platforms.

She reiterated that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies are expected to take control of their Citizens Gate 2.0 Application, stating that this is the motive behind OCE meeting with the MDAs to increase their awareness and get prompt feedback so that the process can become more compact and seamless.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola expressed his appreciation to Engr. Kosegbefor the meeting, assuring her of his full support in spreading the Citizens Gate Application on the Ministry’s various platforms.

Representatives of Agencies under MOT present at the meeting include Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Lagos State Ferry Service, (LAGferry), Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Vehicle Inspection Services (VIS) and Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA)
