The National Universities Commission (NUC) has conducted resource verification of additional three courses in the University. The courses include B.Sc. Tourism & Hotel Management and B.Eng. Chemical Engineering.
The first batch of the NUC team, who arrived the University on the Tuesday, April 11, 202 concluded the exercise by Thursday, April 13, 2023.
The team members who conducted the exercise were: Prof. Benjamin Esu, Mrs. Nosa Ehigie (Tourism & Hospitality Management), Prof. Collins Ajinomoh, Barr. Adejoh Samuel and Mrs. Clara Abu for Chemical Engineering.
The second batch of the NUC team is expected to arrive the University on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 and conclude its duty on Friday, April 21 2023 for the resource verification of the Insurance Programme.
The NUC team leader, Barr. Samuel Adejoh commended the Vice Chancellor, Principal Officers, Deans and HODs for the warm welcome since the arrival of the team.
He also noted that the essence of the visit was to ensure that the University is prepared adequately for the proposed additional programmes.
“It is expected that the visit will in turn add value to the College and Institution,”he said.
Speaking further, he applauded the Institution for making sure that standard equipment has been put in place, as well as necessary requirements to kick-start the programmes. However, he advised the Management to improve on the lapses identified.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya in his remarks, appreciated the Team for the visit.
He said: “We are glad to have gotten to this second step and we want to specially thank NUC for been generous and kind to the University. We will work on the grey areas identified.”
