MSSA Invitational U15 Tournament will provide critical soccer skills to players – Sharon Brown

Age grade tournament in the grassroots have always serve as an avenue for bunch of talented players to be discovered.

The MSSA U15 Invitational Tournament is an age grade competition which players that are liable to play in the competition must not be more than 15 years old as that’s the stipulated age of the competition.

Speaking to ECHONEWS, the admin officer of MSSA, Sharon Brown said the tournament will provide players the opportunity to play competitive matches, gives them additional skills and encourage them to display good sportsmanship behavior.

“MSSA U15 Championships provides players with the opportunity to play in matches. It provides them with additional skills to improve their performance in matches. It teaches players good sportsmanship. Reduces anxiety some experience before playing in a match. It also involves being organized, dedication and drive. Our mini tournament will consist of various teams playing against one another.

“Young children participating in our summer holiday competition will obtain additional skills, perseverance and decision making. They will also have the opportunity to be on our team social media pages. They will win awards and trophy. Also, participating in our tournaments will help our players to learn how to deal with ups and downs of life events and so on. Not to mention they will exercise, play and have fun. We all know that exercise is very important for children.

“The benefits of participating clubs are exposure, acquiring additional critical soccer skills, both mentally and physically. Making new friends. Promotes teamwork with other teams. Helps build character. They learn how to win and accept a lost. It promotes being more extrovert, builds more positive self esteem and teaches dedication.”

The head coach of MSSA, Adewale Adejare (Skenchi) added that the tournament will also discourage other coaches from taking their players to summer holiday camp that’s far from home as MSSA Invitational U15 Tournament will give the clubs competitive atmosphere and provide them a summer holiday competition close to their homes.
