The Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators of Nigeria (TOOAN) of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Zone B, Comrade Monsuru Agbabiaka (Alagba) has confirmed his support for Hon. Bayo Olasoju, saying he is the candidate to be the next chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
He explained that the incumbent council vice chairman’s experience in local governance and his exemplary leadership qualities qualify him than others.
Agbabiaka, one of the political stakeholders in the community, emphasised his confidence in the capabilities of Olasoju, stressing that he will bring about a significant turnaround in the socio-economic development of Isolo LCDA.
His words: “Olasoju has the experience and I can tell you that he is the best candidate for the position. We are confident that he will make a significant difference as the council chairman in Ejigbo is doing. We are confident that he will do better. He has been endorsed by leaders of other groups in the party and he is getting more endorsement on daily basis from other political leaders in the community. And I think that is an attestation to their belief in his capabilities. Other aspirants in the race especially those exhibiting desperation are just doing so for nothing and I hope that they will all come together to work with Olasoju after the primaries in the interest of our party.”
Agbabiaka also corroborated the point of one of the former aspirants for the position, Hon. Adeola Shakir Sadiq (Imole) who withdrew from the race to support Olasoju based on the party’s agreement in 2017 to present Olasoju in 2021.
In a similar development, some other politicians and stakeholder have been following Hon. Jude Idimogu’s step by leaving their camps and joining the campaign team of Hon. Bayo Olasoju.
As earlier reported by ECHONEWS, the lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Idimogu pulled out of Unity Forum, the coalition of support groups backing Hon. Akeem Muniru; an aspirant for the chairmanship seat, to support Olasoju.
Since his withdrawal from the Forum, many of his loyalists have also followed suit, believing that their principal has seen the future.
Meanwhile, Olasoju has said his camp is spacious enough to accommodate everyone who wishes to join him, adding that he and his team would continue canvassing support for the party’s National Leader – Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu till he realises his presidential ambition in 2023.
He promised to launch a vigorous campaign for Asiwaju when it is time to do so.
