The majority leader of the Legislative Arm of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Seyi Jaiyesimi, has announced plans to run for the second term as councillor representing Ewu ward.

Speaking to ECHONEWS, he said he has to unveil his plans to contest again on time to consolidate on his campaign strategy already put in place to make the second term possible.

As a majority leader, Jaiyesimi explained that his first term of four years in office was a mixture of comfort and challenges which have reshaped the perception of his duty as a councillor.

“It is the desire of every elected politician to go for the second term and mine is not going to be different, I am counting on God, the good people of Ewu ward which I represent and the entire Oshodi to make my dream of coming back for the second term become a reality.

“At the moment, we are consulting with the All Progressive Congress (APC) party leaders and stakeholders for direction since the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC ) has released the guidelines for the 2021 Local Council elections. The four-year experience has been beautiful and challenging. It has been a learning curve for me which has made me better as a person in terms of knowledge and administrative work.

Speaking on his own personal achievements within his four years in office, the councillor said he facilitated projects such as refurbishment of bad roads as to his ward. Besides, he created avenue for the people of Oshodi to have direct trading access with the Relish Noddles company.

Other personal projects, according to him, include palliative support (food items and face masks) to the people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
