The 20 secondary school leavers selected by the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh to be trained on Coding (software Application) are set to put their skills to use.
The training is to raise a new generation of entrepreneurs to solve unemployment in the society.
With the sponsorship by the council chairman, the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) unit of the Oshodi-Isolo local government partnered with TECHEND i to train the youths between October 2020 and March 2021.
One of the trainees, Ololade Opadeji, said: “I belong to the Mobile App development and my experience so far has exposed me to an amazing world of technology and I am proud and confident to say that l can design basic UIs of Mobile Apps and I aspire to explore the world of Mobile App development to execute the brilliant innovative ideas to become a professional in the field.”
Tiamiyu Abdurrahman said: “I majored in Mobile App development and a little bit of frontend (web design). My experience has been a good one and I will continue to increase my knowledge on the course by updating myself on new development languages in the field and then work with it by getting project from clients.”
Daramola Akorede said: “I can build a Mobile but I’m grounded in the basis of web development and I intend to build on the acquired skills and become a professional,.”
Aisha Shittu said: “My experience has been an arena for self development and growth for me as I major in web development. I can confidently work with database, create some functions such as APIs, also create a static website using HTML and CSS and I plan to broaden my knowledge on other programming languages.”
