Table water vendors project better sales in Harmattan season

Roadside sachet/table water vendors as well as their soft drink counterparts in the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area have been making higher sales as dry weather that usually ushers in harmattan seasons sets in.

Some of the vendors who spoke to ECHONEWS said the huge traffic jam daily experienced on the roads especially along Oshodi-Toll Gate caused by the ongoing construction work on the road has also boosted their sales as many people trekking on the road have to take some drinks.

According to them, the hot weather that sets in forces people to consume more water and other soft drinks sold in the traffic.

This was confirmed by a table water sales outlet operating in Oshodi that increased production due to fresh orders since the beginning of this month.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, the owner of Tofunmi Store, a major distributor of table water and other soft drinks at Mosaku area of Oshodi, Mrs. Tofunmi Ajayi confirmed that the products have been on high demand since the rain stopped some days ago.

She said: “I circulate close to 150 packs of table water daily.”
