Eight teams have qualified for the group stage of the maiden edition of the Seagold Super Cup.
The competition is hosted at the Ejigbo mini stadium with maximum number of spectators trooping out to watch the football matches.
Sixteen teams participated in the first round of the competition which was a knockout and 8 teams qualified to the next round.
The qualified teams have been grouped into two as the two top teams in each group will qualify to the semi-final.
In the first round, Mercy FC marginalised Bungalow Youth FC 3-0, Bright Star FA skipped past Bright All Stars 1-0, Madu FC demolished Stanley Global 5-0, Golden Stars edged Divine Restoration 6-5 in penalty shootout, Rolag FC knocked out Treasure FC 5-4 in penalty shootout, Great Success crushed Santos International Academy 3-0, Peculiar FC beat Ogaga International FC 3-0 while Future Stars beat Dynamite FC 11-10 in penalty shootout.
The group stage of the competition will start on Monday June 7, 2021.
The 8 teams that are through to the group stage are Mercy FC, Bright Star FA, Madu FC, Golden Stars FC, Great Success FC, Rolag FC, Peculiar FC and Future Stars FC.
Group A consists Mercy FC, Madu FC, Great Success FC and Peculiar FC while Group B consists Bright Star FA, Golden Stars FC, Rolag FC and Future Stars FC.
