Eight oil workers, who were some days ago abducted in Lagos State, have regained their freedom.
It is not clear, as at the time of filing this report, if any ransom was paid before their release on Sunday evening
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the MRS oil workers were picked up in the Sangotedo area of the state after spending six days in the den of their abductors.
The image maker in charge of the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the release of the abducted workers
The oil workers were last Monday on their way home after the close of work when they were reportedly abducted by gunmen in military uniform.
The oil workers were reportedly in a private boat when the gunmen transferred them into another speed boat and took them away.
The boat which the kidnappers used was a day later recovered in the Ikorodu area of the state.
Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the release of the oil workers to newsmen on Monday.
