Expectations are high as Estate Youth Parliament (EYP) plans to organise 2nd edition of its marathon race scheduled to take place on October 1, 2021 at Jakande Estate Ejigbo.

Speaking with ECHONEWS, the chairman of Estate Youth Parliament (EYP), Yusuf Adeyemi said the group will improve and surpass the achievements of the past marathon race as plans are underway to make the one day event colorful.

Adeyemi added that security operatives will be on standby to ensure hitch free tourney and to also control vehicular movements in the community as some parts of the community will be used.

“God helping us we are making a better plan as it’s a normal thing for organisations to improve and surpass the deeds of their past events of the same nature. In our own capacity, we are also making moves to ensure that the centre stage this time around is a little bit colourful and more coordinated different from last year.

“The rewards for the winners will be better compared to last year. Though, EYP is a group that relies solely on the residents for support, to the Glory of God, the people have never failed us and we can only keep praying for all these people for God’s guidance and protection.

“Over 60 athletes are expected to participate in this year marathon race. So, we are calling on interested athletes in Ejigbo and Oshodi-Isolo to come to obtain their forms for the marathon race free of charge. Cash gifts will be given to the winners, 1st and second runner-up.”
