44-year-old Man Pleads Guilty To Stealing Goods Worth N5m

A suspect, Ganiyu Musiliu, has pleaded guilty to charges of fraud at a Lagos court.
Musiliu was arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Badagry on Friday, where the Prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, mentioned that he committed theft to the tune of N5,030.00 on August 23 at Ijanikin area of the state.
Ekpo said that the accused, who is to be re-arraigned on October 8 for judgement, collected goods worth the reported sum from one Sheriff Hamzat, the complainant, and absconded.
”The accused conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by running away with goods valued at N5,030,000 from the complainant.”
”The offences contravened the provisions of Section 314,168 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
The Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, ordered that the alleged offender be remanded at the Nigerian Custodial Centre in Badagry pending his next arraignment for further facts and sentencing.
