250 Students Graduate From Igando Ikotun Skill Acquisition Centre

The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, Mr. Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde has said that 250 youths have graduated from the Igando-Ikotun Skills Acquisition Centre for the 2023 session.

The Chairman, speaking during the yearly graduation ceremony at the Igando-Ikotun Secretariat, said that the council has given young people the chance to improve their socioeconomic wellbeing by acquiring vocational skills as part of the Poverty Alleviation strategies.

He pointed out that the council is enabling a new group of young people to enhance small and medium-sized businesses in the community, making the skills acquisition program symbolic.

The Vice Chairman, Mrs. Mojsola Badmus, said that for the graduates who have been committed to their training, the ceremony signifies the start of a new chapter in their lives.

She continued, saying it is amazing to know that women’s empowerment has been a top priority for this administration, which has also recognized the issues facing women in society and launched policies that can only be resolved through such initiatives.

The Center offers a variety of vocational training programs in areas such as fashion design, computer training, bead stringing, catering, hairdressing, cosmetology, leatherworking, and shoemaking.

Akinsanya, encouraged graduands to utilize the opportunity of the skill acquisition programme as they set out to showcase the knowledge they have acquired.
