Badagry Local Government Chairman, Mr. Babatunde Hunpe, has called on all eligible residents of the area to revalidate their voters cards and take full advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Accompanied by the Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Ajose Peter Kumayon, Hunpe personally led the way by revalidating his own voter’s card at the Badagry Grammar School centre, which is hosting the Lagos West Senatorial District Mega Registration exercise.

Speaking directly to the people of Badagry after completing his revalidation, the Chairman stressed that revalidating one’s voter’s card is not optional but a sacred duty every responsible citizen must perform without delay.

“Your voter’s card is not just a document; it is your voice and your power in shaping the future of our community. I strongly urge every eligible resident to come out now and revalidate your voter’s card. Do not wait until it is too late. This is your opportunity to secure your place in the democratic process.”

He emphasised that active participation by citizens is the bedrock of good governance and true democracy.

“As leaders, we must lead by example, and that is exactly what we have done today,” he added.

“Participating in this CVR exercise is a simple but very crucial step in ensuring that our people are not left out of the democratic process. Every single vote counts, and every revalidated card strengthens our collective voice.”

The Chairman further appealed to residents who need to transfer their voting details or update any information on their cards to seize the opportunity now, assuring them that INEC has made the entire process simple, fast, and accessible at the centre.

Hunpe made it clear that the time to act is now, urging all eligible voters in Badagry and across the Lagos West Senatorial District to visit the registration centre without further and revalidate their voters cards for a stronger, more inclusive democracy.
