Nigeria were the dominant side in the encounter as they forced the Dessert Warriors to their own half with subtle passes while Alex Iwobi engineered the creator of chances.
Akor came close to give the Eagles the lead with a left footed strike from close range effort which scaled over the goal post.
Algeria couldn’t get their rhythm as Nigeria nipped their attacking threats in the bud.
The first 45 minutes ended in a stalemate as both sides failed to break the deadlock.
Two minutes after the start of the second half, left back, Bruno Onyemaechi delivered a dreaded cross which Osimhen met with a thumping header to give the Super Eagles the lead at the Grande Stade de Marrakech.
The goal by Osimhen changed the dynamism of the encounter which left the Dessert Warriors grasping for clear cut chances.
In the 57th minute, the Eagles artistry came into play as Iwobi send a needle thread pass to Osimhen who laid the pass on a plate for Akor who dribbled the goalkeeper to give Nigeria a two goal lead.
Algeria who were sitting deep in their half to absorb pressure couldn’t breakdown the Nigeria defense.
