Morocco coach, Walid Regragui is ready to face the sack if Nigeria defeats them at the semifinal of the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat on Wednesday, January 14th.

The Atlas Lions are the favourites to win the AFCON on home soil with their golden generation of star players.

Regragui said he will not be worried if he’s shown the exit door follow supposing Nigeria knockout Morrocco in the semifinal.

“Every coach knows he must be prepared for the sack, if he doesn’t win. But I don’t think about that. I’m not afraid of being sacked,” Regragui said at the prematch Press Conference of the Nigeria vs Morocco game.

The tactician believes, the Atlas Lions were incredible in their quarter final win against Cameroon and they are in the best condition to play against the Super Eagles in Rabat.

“We delivered a good match that satisfied everyone with the performance. We are in good physical and mental condition, and we will face Nigeria, who have regained their true level after failing to qualify for the World Cup.”

The gaffer acknowledged the Eagles are a strong side which defeating them is the Atlas Lions priority.

“We continue our preparations for the semifinal after reaching this stage for the first time in years. We will face a strong team, but we are ready to achieve victory and reach the final match.”

Morocco last won the AFCON in 1976 and the last time they reached the semifinal of the continental showpiece was in 2013.
