Chairman of the Lagos State Dart Association (LSDA), Adegbenga Odofin has set a lofty target for the athletes participating in the Dart category of the National Sport Festival (NSF).

Odofin admitted Lagos State athletes competing in Dart at the 2024 Gateway Games have not been lucky compared to the previous sport festival held at Asaba.

He’s optimistic more medals can still be won as some categories are yet to be completed or open for competitiveness.

“Going by precedence, all the athletes we took to the last Sport Festival won a medal but we have not been so lucky this time because we have won only one medal and hopefully we get to win more, we still have the mix doubles, singles and other categories to compete for.

“We assure Lagosians that we will win at least five medals in Dart.”

Odofin lauded the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) for their contributions in developing Dart as a sport while he confesses that the sport lack enough infrastructures in Lagos which should be worked on.

“We have been getting the support from the government as much as possible but this time is different because funding is coming more often but we still need more in terms of infrastructure.”
