With the aim of promoting community-driven development, Eti-Osa Local Government held its highly anticipated Stakeholders Consultative Meeting at the secretariat recently.
Chaired by the dynamic Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole administration, the gathering was themed the ‘Budget of Transformation.’
Represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Idowu Badru, Executive Chairman Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole underscored the significance of a budget aligned with the community’s needs.
Priority areas such as health, education, sanitation, youth, and women empowerment were highlighted as key focal points for the upcoming fiscal year.
Diverse stakeholders, including Legislative Councillors, Executives, Community Leaders, Civil Society Organizations, and Women and Youth Groups, actively participated in discussions. The interactive session aimed to gather valuable insights and feedback, fostering collaboration between the government and the community.
Discussions delved into budgeting strategies for transformative impacts in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social development. Participants offered suggestions on optimizing the budget’s effectiveness, emphasizing the allocation of funds for road maintenance, provision of clean water, and robust youth and women empowerment programs.
Supervisors for Works, Health, and Environment – Hon. Maiyegun Abiodun, Hon. Lookman Elegushi, and Hon. Sharafa Balogun – provided updates on sector achievements and outlined plans for 2024. They expressed gratitude to stakeholders, affirming the government’s commitment to prioritizing community needs.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Idowu Badru, led the interactive session, responding to questions and comments. He urged continued support from the community in the government’s efforts to enhance living standards in Eti-Osa.
The consultative meeting concluded successfully, facilitating meaningful dialogue between the government and the people. Input gathered will be integrated into the 2024 budget, reflecting a community-driven approach to governance and development.
