Staying true to her commitment to improving the lives of her constituents, the lawmaker representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Idiat Adebule, on Monday, empowered 1,000 participants of her intensive skills acquisition program with vocational equipment and start-up capital.
The event took place at the De Blue Roof Hall of Lagos Television, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The beneficiaries were participants of her recently concluded comprehensive skills acquisition training, which covered baking and confectionery, leatherwork, hairdressing, fashion design, and barbering.
Each of the 1,000 beneficiaries received equipment relevant to their respective vocations, such as sewing machines, complete sets of hairdryers, gas cylinders, and other essential tools.
In a post on her Facebook page, Adebule expressed her delight in successfully carrying out the mega empowerment program, which she said was held in partnership with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
She emphasized that the program was in further fulfillment of her commitment to providing qualitative representation and organizing developmental programs for her constituents, adding that more of such initiatives are in the pipeline.
“To the glory of God and for the continuous betterment of mankind, today (Monday), we empowered 1,000 beneficiaries of our recently concluded intensive skills acquisition program with tools and financial support to help launch or grow their businesses.
“The program, dubbed the ‘Mega Empowerment Programme,’ was organized in partnership with SMEDAN, as part of my promise to facilitate developmental initiatives for my constituents. This complements my ongoing efforts to provide effective representation in the Senate,” the lawmaker said.
At the event, Adebule reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to raising the standard of legislative representation, particularly as the lawmaker for the most populous senatorial district in the country. She encouraged the beneficiaries to wisely use the skills they’ve gained and the support they’ve received to become self-reliant and contribute to the economy.
“I am deeply grateful for the presence of our party chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and other distinguished dignitaries from both the political and corporate spheres who honored us with their presence,” she concluded.
