No fewer than 100 youths graduated from the ICT Skill programme organized by Ikorodu Local Government in conjunction with SPEED UP during the weekend.
The training was held at the Council Secretariat.
The council chairman, Hon. Wasiu Adesina, while presenting certificates to the youths who participated in the ICT SPEED UP Summer Class, charged them to use the skill acquired to their advantage and that of their communities.
He said such opportunity was not available during his own time because there was no internet and modern facilities to learn “but today, they are lucky that education now is more simplified and all materials to learn and research are made easy and available to them.”
He advised them to try to tap and make use of the available technology to enhance their knowledge and growth.
A representative of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, Mr. Yusuf enlightened the participants to seek employment loans from the state government to start small-scale businesses to be self-employed.
